Golden Gate Point – What’s New and Upcoming?
Golden Gate Point is growing, which is great news for anyone looking for luxurious condo living in Downtown Sarasota. Formerly known as Cedar Point, the 22-acre peninsula that extends into Sarasota Bay eventually was renamed Golden Gate Point. Over the years, significant efforts were made to enhance what ultimately became the renowned gateway to John Ringling’s resort communities on St. Armand’s, Lido, and Longboat Keys. Today, there are five new construction buildings joining the ranks in this popular area: The Owen, En Pointe, Peninsula, Six88, and Evolution.
The Owen
The Owen is situated on the south interior of the peninsula and features both bay and city views from its higher floors. When completed, this condominium will be able to host 29 residents (and their pets!) The amenities at the Owen are incredible and resemble that of a resort. Residents can choose to spend their time relaxing at the saltwater pool or sauna, or decide to make it an active afternoon of meandering on the walking path. The Owen is currently under construction and is estimated to be complete in 2024, and units are available now for sale.

En Pointe
En Pointe is on the east interior of the Golden Gate peninsula, and will be home to only four residents. Higher units may be able to get a peek at some bay views, but since the building tops out at five floors this may be something to consider. The good news is that all units are full-floor units, giving you plenty of space. Each unit will also be granted two under-building parking spots and bike storage on the ground floor. The exclusivity of En Pointe will make its amenities feel all the more private – like the pool or barbeque deck. En Pointe is expected to finish construction in 2024.
Peninsula
Estimated to be complete in 2024, the Peninsula will have a total of 22 residences. What we love about this condominium is the high-end home upgrades: ten foot ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows, open plan gourmet kitchens with Gaggenau appliances, and the latest in smart home technology. There are plenty of community amenities to enjoy as well, including a pool with nearby firepits and lounging areas, concierge services, and a rooftop terrace overlooking Marina Jacks.
Six88
When completed in 2024, Six88 will be the luxurious new home to 10 residents. Six88 is tucked between Gulfstream Ave and Golden Gate Point, making it the closest to all that Downtown has to offer. Within the condominium, residents will be offered amenities like a heated pool, wellness center, and a rooftop outdoor kitchen. What is particularly unique about Six88 is its architecture, which has the entire building designed to resemble a yacht sail. This is also the only new construction option that is directly on the waterfront, and not the interior circle of Golden Gate Point.
Evolution
Evolution is chock-full of amenities that are definitely unique! For the 20 residents of Evolution, they can treat themselves to a pool deck on the first floor or a rooftop terrace with a jacuzzi to take in the sunset. There are pet-friendly facilities on site (including a groomer!) in addition to concierge, a yoga studio, and clubhouse with a pool table. Evolutions motto is “Luxury close to nature” which really comes through in the floor-to-ceiling windows throughout each unit to let in natural light.
It’s exciting to hear about these new projects that will add to our Sarasota skyline along the bay. Each of these new construction projects offer an incredible living experience and offer a sublime location right at the entry of the John Ringling Causeway.
