Laurel Lakes homes for sale are located about 3 miles east of I-75 on Bee Ridge Road. This well-maintained gated community consists of about 291 homes on larger estate-size lots. The community was established in early 2000’s, and had not started out on the best foot. During the boom of construction in 2003 and 2004, homes were being sold and even built before the infrastructure was actually completed, which is not the norm. Construction vehicles eventually caused some infrastructure damage, which in turn caused some friction between the developer and the home builders. This had caused some negative publicity in the newspapers. In the years to follow however, these issue were resolved.

Laurel lakes gets it’s name from the beautiful large lakes surrounding the community. Also, the community features has a community clubhouse, fitness facility, full kitchen, and banquet hall. Residents also enjoy two Har-Tru tennis courts.

Being a little east of I-75 affords the residents larger lot sizes than many communities east of I-75, and shopping has since become very convenient with the addition of a grocery store and shopping center which was built 1/2 mile down the road. There is even a park located just down the road too.
